Newsletter #2: Building A Team
Mar 7th, 2020
Hola friends!
Thank you for tuning in to our updates; in the few weeks that have passed since our last newsletter, we have had some very exciting things happen!
Firstly, we are incredibly excited to announce that we have finalized our NEW TEAM! This was a prayer that has been on our hearts for a while, and we are so grateful that God has assembled such a driven group of people to bring their diverse perspectives to the table. We welcome Edward Wong as Treasurer, and our new board members Noel Mendoza, Elyse Tsang and Matthew Lowe!
With heavy yet grateful hearts, we thank Nate Wong for all of his service and support over the past three years as our Treasurer, and look forward to bothering him once a year as he steps into the role of our auditor.
On March 1st, we gathered (almost) all the former FLC short term missions team members who have been to Educando Para La Vida, to film a music video for the children in Zaragoza, celebrate the progress of EDUPAVI Canada, and pray over our friends in Guatemala. It was heart-warming to see this group of incredibly different people bond over such a special thing in common.
At the party, we introduced the opportunity to become an EDUPAVI Ambassador, and were thrilled to have such a large number of people join our team in this way! Our Ambassadors are our core active team: the first ones to be invited to be involved in our events/campaigns, and the ones who help us spread our passion for this mission. If you would like to become one of our official Ambassadors (listed on our website), please reach out to info@edupavi.ca!
Finally, Jackie and Pastor Larry have been preparing for their trips to Guatemala and are almost ready to go! Jackie will be leaving this Monday (Mar 9th) and will be in Zaragoza from the 16th-25th to work on videos, family stories and site research. PL will be joining her (with his family!) for a short period from the 22nd-24th, in which they hope to complete all necessary meetings and site visitations, as well as officially celebrate the partnership of the two organizations. Please pray for safety, efficiency and minimal bodily dysfunction!
Thank you for reading, and for your continuous prayer. If you or your family would like to join this mission financially and help provide resources needed for the beginning of the school year, please click the button below:
We look forward to sharing with you all the stories and God moments we are sure to witness in the month ahead!
Until next time,
Team EDUPAVI Canada
